GLISI Performance Consultants work primarily as content specialists in the delivery of one or more of GLISI’s practice areas of leadership development, custom consulting, and research and evaluation. Specific programs include, but are not limited to:
- Aspiring Leaders Program
- Base Camp / Leadership Summit
- Executive Leadership Coaching
- Research and Evaluation
- Strategic Improvement Planning
- Talent Management
Based on the work assignment, GLISI Performance Consultants perform several key responsibilities that include providing implementation support of GLISI initiatives to school and district leaders; developing and delivering high-quality adult learning experiences; and providing on-site coaching to leaders. GLISI Performance Consultants also share effective leadership and school improvement practices with district and school leaders.
Other qualities GLISI seeks in its Performance Consultants: interpersonal skills that foster effective interactions such as relationship building; knowledge, experiences, and skills in the consulting process such as effective collaboration, data-driven interactions, and providing effective feedback; ability to develop and adjust plans and approaches that are responsive to district needs; desire to serve as an ambassador for GLISI, promoting the organization’s values and goals; proficiency in using productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; integration of technology to manage projects effectively and to deliver effective learning experiences; and availability to work on weekdays during the academic school year.
GLISI Performance Consultants are paid fees for their work. The amount paid varies based on the nature of the work and the amount of time involved in the assignment.
Candidates for endorsement in the training or apprentice phases are not paid for participation, but may be reimbursed for expenses.
Ideal candidates have knowledge, experience, and credibility in the field of education directly related to GLISI’s mission and vision. This includes experience in professional learning, school improvement planning, leadership coaching and/or managing organizational change; experience as a district or school administrator or teacher leader with responsibility for leading a team to developing school improvement initiatives; knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles; and familiarity with the policies and context of education in the state of Georgia.

Individuals who are interested in serving as consultants and meet the necessary requirements are invited to apply by submitting (1) a completed Performance Consultant Application; (2) a 10-15 minute video of their facilitation of a professional learning event at the local, state, national or international level OR a portfolio of professional experience related to the desired area(s) of consulting; and (3) a current résumé.

Upon arrival in our offices, a GLISI staff member will notify you that your application has been received. Receipt of your application, however, does not guarantee selection for training and endorsement as a Performance Consultant. Applications are reviewed on a periodic basis, and qualified applicants are recommended for training based on the needs of the organization. Applicants selected to attend consultant training engage in a demonstration of practice with feedback prior to full endorsement as a GLISI Performance Consultant.
