Meca Mohammed joined the GLISI staff in 2011 and currently serves as the Vice President of Operations & Talent. Her previous experience includes education research, program evaluation, and teaching. Prior to joining GLISI, Meca served as a graduate research assistant in the University of Georgia’s Education Policy and Evaluation Center, an evaluation consultant for Northeast Georgia Regional Service Agency, and a Fellow for the Southern Education Foundation. Meca also spent several years as an English Language Arts and AVID teacher in the Cobb County School District.

In her role, Meca is responsible for measuring the effectiveness of GLISI’s programs and services and overseeing the development and publication of research reports, briefs, and impact studies. She also leads GLISI’s external evaluation efforts.

Meca holds a PhD. in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia, an M.Ed. in Secondary Education from Boston College, and a B.A. in English Literature from Spelman College
