Shaping a Vision of Academic Success for All Students: A Roadmap of Key Processes and Effective Practices

As a part of the Wallace Foundation’s Principal Pipeline Initiative, GLISI developed this roadmap, prepared for principals, by principals. It captures the key practices that have worked for the participating principals in developing a sustainable shared vision for high performing students and adults, organized around four key processes: Casting the vision; implementing the vision; communicating/branding the vision; and sustaining the school vision. This roadmap, intended to be a resource rather than a rule book, offers step-by-step guidance, examples, and resources for consideration by an aspiring principal, a novice principal and any leader new to shaping a vision of academic success for all students.
